(Party like rockstar, party like a monstar)

If you hate Adam Sandler, you will certainly hate this movie. I have a weak spot with movies where there’s a lot of brotherhood with its protagonists, like most Adam Sandler movies have, plus the experience of seeing these classic monsters interacting with each other. This is from Genndy Tartakovsky, who’s involve with a lot of 90’s cartoons like Dexter’s Lab and The Power Puff Girls, and I’m a 90’s kid so the artwork and simplicity of the humor gave me a lot of nostalgia. It’s beautiful to look at but there are a lot of fascinating things happening in the background that might not get focused if viewed at 3D. What this movie lacks is an epic score that old cartoons have. It’s also a bit short. And it should’ve been released in October. The musical end might annoy many but I liked it because it’s original and fun. The ending credits are more nostalgic. THE TWILIGHT JOKE IS THE BEST.

Adam Sandler (Dracula) used his voice acting to its full potential. I’m Selena Gomez (Davis) is actually good at times. Andy Samberg (Jonathan) is great, even if he’s sometimes annoying. Kevin James (Frank) is surprisingly funny with his stereotype jokes. Cee Lo Green (Mummy) has some good moments. David Spade (Invisible Man) is fantastic as always. Steve Buscemi (Werewolf) is good and relatable to dads who took their kids to this movie, even if he should have been Gollum. Fran Drescher (Mrs. Frankie) is unnecessary and I can’t accept that they made Esmeralda like Ratatouille. The Bleh Dude, the Do Not Disturb Ladies and the Rango musicians are funny. What happened to Chris Rock and Rob Scneider?

Hotel Transylvania is an underrated gem, maybe because critics really hate Adam Sandler. It may be clichéd but it has a lot of heart, funny moments and beautiful art direction. Call this childish but we need cartoons with no complications like this for the deteriorating childhood nowadays. They like being bitten by vampires as long as they’re good-looking nowadays! It has a potential to be a resurrection of the classic 90’s cartoons so make this a TV series, please. One of the best movies from Sandler and I’m a minority in saying that this is my most favorite animated movie of 2012.

REPEATABLE 4/5! 🙂
